Nevşehir or Kayseri: Which Airport for Cappadocia?
Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV) is the closer airport for Cappadocia — about 40 km from Göreme, against roughly 78 km from Kayseri Erkilet (ASR). When Nevşehir is the better choice
If you are staying in Göreme, Uçhisar, Avanos or Ortahisar, NAV saves you 25–40 km on each transfer — roughly half an hour each way, and a shorter (so usually cheaper) transfer per vehicle. The terminal is small and quick to get through, which is welcome after a long-haul flight and a connection. Since most UK, US and Australian travellers connect in Istanbul anyway, Turkish Airlines via IST or AJet via SAW to NAV is usually the most direct way in.
When Kayseri makes sense
Kayseri wins on choice. Pegasus does not fly to Nevşehir but does fly to Kayseri, and in season several leisure airlines fly there directly from European cities. If one of those flights saves you a connection or a lot of money, the extra drive is worth it. Kayseri is also convenient if you plan to visit the city itself or Mount Erciyes.
Either way you can book a fixed-price transfer: go4transfers.com serves both airports. See the airlines at Nevşehir for current routes.
Flying in to one, out of the other
Nothing stops you from arriving at one airport and leaving from the other. If an evening flight from Kayseri fits your onward plans better, simply book the return transfer from your hotel to ASR.
